How much bad news….is enough?

I am amazed at all the depressing bad news floating around us. It is hard not to want to crawl into a hole and pull the covers over your head. The economy continues to be mired in high unemployment, poor growth data, the worst housing reports in decades and it seems there is no real light at the end of the tunnel.
Or is there?
Maybe it is time for us to pick ourselves up by our bootstraps and refuse to let this stop us in our tracks. Maybe we can take this monster head on by our fortitude and work ethic. Maybe we can be inspired…and/or inspire ourselves and others to brush aside the politics and media and make the changes we need to make in our lives regardless of the current circumstances. It is not easy…in fact it is very hard. But I am here to tell you that it can be done. I have done it in my life and I have seen others do it as well. While there may be several ways to do this, FHTM is the best vehicle I have seen in many years to make this happen. I would be proud to lock arms with you and help to make these changes together. One day at a time and step by step forward we can make an impact on our lives and the many lives of our friends and family as well.

Networking Idea’s

So you have begun a new business and you are looking for partners/clients. Many times people really get stuck on how to do this. They try all the easy ads, listings, flyers and more but they fall short on the most important tool available to them. That tool is “themselves”. Always remember that YOU are your business and the best way to share YOU is to get out and meet people. You might be saying “great Dean but how do I do that!!??”

Well, let me share a few idea’s…

1. Join a local business networking group. They are all over the place! I go to one in Spokane every Wed. morning and there are over 50 business owners there all with the intent on sharing leads with each other. They also use each others services among themselves.
2. Join your local Chamber of Commerce. There are usually regular meetings with other members and typically the local CoC has numerous tools to help local businesses.
3. Trade Shows! You do not have to buy a booth and spend lots of money. Go to all types of trade shows and walk the floor as an attendee. If you are not afraid to stop and talk and collect business cards you will find that you meet a lot of people and develop some great leads.
4. Clubs and Groups. Rotary Club, Lodges or any club that caters to things you like to do.

These are just a few idea’s for you to ponder. There are numerous ways for you to get the word out about your business. The best way is to get YOU out there sharing it!

Be prepared…

Our hearts and prayers go out to those in Japan for the recent and horrific tragedy they have incurred and are continuing to overcome with each passing day. As devastating and gut wrenching as what we see on the TV is, it would have been far worse if the people of Japan had not prepared themselves for this type of event. Nearly all of the buildings survived an 8.9 magnitude earthquake! It would be beyond comprehension to think of the cities in rubble on top of the tsunami that has taken so many lives. We will never know how many lives were actually spared due to the forward thinking actions taken so many years ago.

Our finances can be much like that. We may not see the trouble coming upon us until it is too late. As hard as losing a job or some other financial hardship can be, it is magnified when we do not prepare ourselves for what could happen. FHTM is the perfect system to allow you to have the piece of mind that you do have something to turn to in the face of a financial disaster. If you start now, and build faithfully, you will have an income stream that can provide you with the “Plan B” income needed to get through the storms of life. Starting your own Home Based Business is the future of mass marketing. Big business is starting to get it. Keep their costs WAY down, make the product to the consumer easily accessible, find a way to ensure brand loyalty and put money back in the pockets of you and I for doing it. March to Texas

Interesting title. What this means is that I and my brother Scott (who is also building our FHTM Business) will be taking a trip to Texas this March to spend 3 days with some of the top leaders in FHTM (Fortune Hi Tech Marketing) including #1 Money Earner Ruel Morton for specific training and to meet supportive partners from all over the US.

I continue to be impressed with the commitment that FHTM has for it’s Representatives to train and support us as we grow our business and our future for our families. They do not have to do this. The people we work with do not have to be so selfless and helpful (they could be secretive and aloof like traditional business). People that have no direct financial benefit from helping me grow my business will go out of their way to help me and guess what…so will I in return.

The word “Team” gets used a lot in business these days. FHTM has a dictionary and knows the definition of what a Team is and how to create an atmosphere of teamwork among the players. In a world that has become very selfish in nature it is refreshing to see that a true “pay it forward” business can not only survive but thrive. It would be our pleasure to invite you to become a part of a real Team as well.

Is a Home Based Business for you?

If you would have asked me this question two years ago I may not have answered “yes”. We romanticize about being our own boss, taking vacations in the Bahamas, driving our favorite car and more, but often times we just shake our head and wake up from our dream and go to work.

About a year ago that changed for me. Times are different than they used to be. Retirement for most is a pipe dream and a scary scenario at best. In the professional world that I live in I see disaster waiting to happen for most. Sure, they make decent money at their job but guess what, there is no way they can save enough money to retire on. If you had no other income to fall back on and had to live on your “savings”, can you put away an extra $3000.00 _ $5000.00 per month for 20 years? (considering you will need 20 years worth of income to retire 65 to 85 years old). Recent statistics say that Social Security will evaporate by 2037. Real Estate and the Stock Market have recently destroyed many retirement plans.

So what do you invest in to change this gloomy picture? You invest in yourself! The one thing that you CAN control. By starting a Home Based Business you can begin to develop a second income on your terms and your time. Things generally start slow (if it is a “get rich quick” plan my advice is to run). Business takes time to develop, but ask yourself this…If I invest good honest effort for the next 2-3 years what would I expect to have built? How about in 5-8 years? Most can see themselves having options at this point and that is what will change our future.

My family has adopted FHTM as our business partner primarily because it is purely a marketing company and not tied to any specific products over the long term. This means we can adjust to any market trends and stay relative. My younger brother Scott is a Regional Sales Manager in the Seattle area, I am a Regional Sales Manager in Spokane and my brother Tim will be a Regional Sales manager in Moses Lake any day now. My daughter Melissa who is 20 years old is an FHTM Rep as well (Lord if I had started this business at 20 years old and stuck with it!!!!)…my point in this is we are an average family working together to lay a foundation for our future.

I can show you the one we chose and the reasons why…that however is a decision you have to make for yourself. My advice however is to pick the one that makes sense to you and start! Take matters in your own hands and do not be a victim of circumstance.

A good time to start?

I have heard it said many times that “the hardest thing to do in anything worth doing is to start“. How true this is when it comes to making changes in our Jobs/Careers. From a male perspective we identify ourselves in our job. ”I am an Accountant” or “I am a Contractor” or Realtor or a Mechanic etc…

But what we do for work should not define who we are. It is what we do for others that should define us. How do we make an impact on our family, church or school? How can we leave a legacy that will far out last our presence on this globe? It is usually accomplished with one or both of two things. Our money and/or our time.

Fortune Hi Tech Marketing (FHTM) is my vehicle to accomplish both of those criteria. Helping people find way’s to make additional income to take the stress from their lives as well as make an impact to others. To lead a team of people who care more about others than they do for themselves through selfless acts of kindness. I see it over and over that when we give of our time and talents to others it seems to multiply and come right back to us.

When is a good time for you to make a change to your available time and/or finances? I would suggest that time might be right now…

A New Beginning

I really love New Years Day. For whatever odd reason it seems to be the one day of the year that is filled with mystery and anticipation. What will 2011 bring? We ask ourselves questions about our health, wealth and other significant life issues we face. How will my life change this new year?

But let me suggest this: If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting and as time goes on it will become less and less. Just ask the millions of seniors trying to live on Social Security right now. Today, like no other time in History has our young people had to start life so far in debt from school and/or lack of available income and it just keeps getting worse.

So fine, how do we change this situation? I will say that it does not happen overnight and it is not easy. It IS very possible however to do. Start a home based network marketing business like FHTM. You can build it as a team with your spouse and do it along side your current job. Build a second income stream that will continue to build as you give it time and devotion. Call your own shots and benefit from your efforts directly.

There are a million reasons and excuses why people do not do this. Virtually all of them are rooted in fear and mis-conception. Take a few minutes and watch our video.
